 Mars 2112 1633 Broadway (at 51st Street) New York, NY 10019 212-582-2112 www.mars2112.com
MARS 2112, located at the corner of 51st Street & Broadway in the Times Square district, marks the debut of the “Multi-sensory Dining,” a giant step forward in the evolution of theme-restaurant “eatertainment.” An intergalactic shuttle transports guests to the Red Planet for an extraterrestrial, culinary experience they will never forget. The Mars 2112 planetary journey is a spectacular mingling of reality and fantasy, a 35,000-square-foot, bi-level, multi-dimensional, immersive environment that catapults travelers to a completely new world. This is a journey to sheer delight, guaranteed to stimulate travelers’ imagination and tantalize each of their five known senses--while awakening the sixth.
As you approach Mars 2112, you can’t help but notice an alien spaceship hovering curiously above Broadway. Eager to explore the unknown vistas of discovery awaiting you within, you step into an imposing, ultra-tech spaceport where regular departures are announced to the Red Planet. Friendly and knowledgeable ground crew issue a Martian visa, which also represents a boarding pass, to avoid any “earthly delays” before your voyage to the Red Planet. While waiting for your spaceship to dock, you are briefed about your trip by the ground crew. Upon hearing your boarding announcement, you, the ITG (Interplanetary Traveling Guest), are escorted to your seat by a Mars 2112 flight attendant to one of the departing 22-seat spaceships. As you fly to Mars through time and space, indescribable wonders flash by the porthole.
Among the dazzling sights are the Manhattan skyline, the MIR Space Station, and a luminous explosion of celestial bodies, after which you are suddenly traveling at warp speeds through what just may be a wormhole! You arrive on Mars in the year 2112 and disembark into a subterranean volcanic crater, surrounded by bubbling, steaming pools of lava.
You may then enter the premier destination point of the galaxy – the “MARS BAR,” a kaleidoscopic oasis, where you can unwind from your trip with both, earthly and alien cocktails. Just before your dining experience begins, you must carefully navigate the Rock Fissure Corridor by stepping across a translucent bridge of pontoons floating over molten lava. Once you are safely across, a Cyberguide escorts you to your designated seat on Mars. The Crystal Crater boasts a three-story crystal tree, covered by a glass canopy that affords a spectacular view of the Martian heavens and the Earth beyond. To dine at the Crater’s Edge, you must cautiously make your way downstairs, past a steaming Blue Lava Fountain. A 300-square-foot “Window to Mars” (the only window on Martian soil) displays a colorful combination of elements, offering majestic views of the Martian landscape.
No interplanetary adventure would be complete without an unforgettable meal. MARS 2112 offers what can only be described as out-of-this world intergalactic ambrosia for children and adults of all ages. From remote and distant countries in Southeast Asia, Chef Marc Felix, aka “Mad Chef,” brings the finest of Asian dishes to the American dining table and creates harmonious marriage between exotic flavors and French culinary traditions. Described by his wife, Lisa Felix, as a “food psychologist,” Marc’s cooking does not start with a recipe but rather evolves around mood and ambiance. Marc attributes his unique view of food and dining to his childhood in the Savoie region of France, where notions of dining were instilled in him early on.
In addition to being a partner in one of the very popular restaurants “Red Moon” in St. Louis, MO, Marc undertakes other challenges – working as a Corporate Chef on a consulting basis at Mars 2112. His philosophy is “to never be bored but travel through life with a speed of light and have fun!”
Why spend another ho-hum evening planet side, eating and seeing the same old stuff you have been eating and seeing for years? Blast off to a completely new world that will engage all SIX of your senses! www.mars2112.com
