The 11th annual Broadway Bears auction to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS was held on Sunday, February 17 at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill, located on the world-famous block of 42nd Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue. As always, the event featured dozens of adorable Teddy Bears done up in the costumes of  memorable characters from Broadway musicals and plays. Here are Michael Portantiere's photos of the reception that preceded the auction. First up: Bryan Batt, host of the auction, with a bear representing Ursula the Sea Witch from The Little Mermaid.
