Spider-man Week NYC

April 30 - May 6
www.spider-manweeknyc.com

The City of New York and Sony Pictures announce that the week of April 30 through May 6 will be Spider-man Week in New York City.  The festivities will involve New York City landmarks in all five boroughs (even Staten Island) and in City landmarks such as Central Park, the Bronx Zoo and the American Museum of Natural History. The week kicks off with an appearance by the cast of "Spider-man 3" on the Today show at Rockefeller Center, and continues with spider-themed activities offered at multiple venues as well as through partnerships with the Tribeca Film Festival.

Spider-Man Week in NYC is one of the first integrated, citywide initiatives spearheaded by NYC & Company, the official marketing and tourism arm of the City of New York.  Events around the city include a special volunteer day for children through the Little Apple Heroes program, "spidery" tales for kids at the Brooklyn Children's Museum, "Spidey Chats" at the Central Park and Bronx Zoos, Green Goblin mask-making at the Children's Museum of Manhattan and a spider exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History. Original Spider-Man comic books will be on display at the New York Public Library, and the Apollo Theater in Harlem will host the closing day celebration with performances of Spider-Man inspired raps.

Participating area retailers will also have special spider-related deals throughout the week.  Crunch offers the opportunity to "work out like a superhero," local Burger King restaurants offer opportunities to win a Sony Full HD Experience, and Supercuts urges all red heads to stop by during Spider-man week for a Mary Jane Watson themed "surprise."

"Spider-man 3" premieres in Astoria, Queens (home of Peter Parker) on April 30th at the UA Kaufman Theater. This is the first-ever big time movie premiere in the borough of Queens. The Tribeca Film Festival runs from April 26th-May 6th, and will also have free premiere screenings in all five boroughs.
