Taste of Times SquareJune 11, 5:00-8:30 pmWest 46th St. between Broadway and 9th Ave. Admission: Free $1 tickets can be purchased and redeemed for "tastes" at each booth timessquarenyc.org/about_us/events_taste.html     Sponsored by the the Times Square Alliance, the festivities begin at 5 pm on June 11, on historic Restaurant Row (46th St. between Broadway and 9th Avenue). Admission to the event is completely free and open to the public, but to sample the goods, you have to purchase a $1 "taste" ticket which entitles you to try out food and beverages at each booth. Be sure to show up early before all the best stuff gets consumed. Among the participating restaurants are Italian staples Becco and Trattoria Dopo Teatro, the Heartland Brewery, the Scottish-themed St. Andrews Restaurant, and Shula's American Steakhouse from the Westin Hotel. Also included are some of the more expected theme restaurants from Times Square such as Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Hawaiian Tropic Zone, M&M's World, and the Hard Rock Cafe. For a full list of restaurants, click here. In addition to featuring some of the neighborhood's top restaurants, there's a host of live music and entertainment for the whole family. The cast of "Tony and Tina's Wedding" will perform selections from the show, and a swing band will play while interested parties receive free lessons in swing dancing. Also included are Real de Mexico, a mariachi band, and the Ebony Hillbillies, who describe their sound as "bluegrass music with an urban edge."
