Rowling's seventh and final Harry Potter book, Scholastic is touring the Knight Bus across the country. Based on the purple, triple-decker bus described in the Harry Potter books, the Knight Bus will be rolling into various New York City public libraries starting Thursday, June 7.In all, 37 libraries across the country will participate in the seven-week-long Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Knight Bus tour, which culminates at Scholastic headquarters in New York City for the release of the seventh and final book in the series at 12:01 a.m. on July 21, 2007. At each library, some lucky fans will have a chance to board the Knight Bus and share on video their thoughts and feelings about the Harry Potter books. Select video clips from each location will be uploaded for viewing and sharing on www.scholastic.com/harrypotter. Additionally, each fan who records a message will receive a unique username and password so that they can view their own video online. Other planned activities during the Knight Bus visit at the New York City libraries include Harry Potter games, face painting, sidewalk chalk art, wand-making and other fun crafts. The fastest-selling book in history, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," J.K. Rowling's sixth Harry Potter book was released on July 16, 2005 with a first printing of 10.8 million. It sold 6.9 million copies in the first 24 hours.
