Roll Away is Back Door Slam's debut album released by Blix Street Records
Wowing U.S. audiences at their live American debut, Back Door Slam's name-making performance at Austin's yearly South by Southwest music festival put them alongside other top indie bands such as Polyphonic Spree, Rocco Deluca and The Bravery. After their SXSW performance in March, the band toured in May to build support for their debut CD called "Roll Away," which was released by Blix Street Records.

Hailing from the Isle of Man, a British dependency, the band is headed by 20-year-old phenom Davy Knowles, the guitarist, singer and principal song writer for this heady blues-rock trio.  20-year-old Ross Doyle on the drums has performed with Knowles in a prior version of the band, and the most recent addition was 19-year-old bassist Adam Jones.

Back Door Slam mixes elements of blues with rock to generate rootsy, rocking music similar to the 1970s rock band Bad Company, Eric Clapton, and early Fleetwood Mac. Additionally, Yahoo! Music is honoring the new band by featuring them in "Who's Next: Tomorrow's Music Today." Check it out at music.yahoo and help Back Door Slam continue their successful climb by voting.

Despite the excitement of recording their debut album, Knowles expresses his enjoyment of playing live more than anything else.  "It's all I ever wanted to do: go on tour and keep playing," said Knowles.

Their performance at the Mercury Lounge will start at 8:30 pm.
