KT Sullivan & Marc Nadler’s act has been feverishly entertaining since their first professional union at the Triad Cabaret Theatre in 1997. While they share a lighthearted approach to music that has a more serious subtext, their act juxtaposes ironic anecdotes and intimate stories that stitch together pieces of time. The result is a somewhat extended vaudeville routine, abundant with laughter and tears, resembling a miniature theatrical revue.
Nadler burns up the piano keys better than any other cabaret artist around. KT Sullivan is, to some extent, the ice to Nadler's fire - cool, collected, and vocally assured, she provides a wonderful counterpoint (both musically and theatrically) to her partner.
The show is challenging, complex, and the result of extensive research, offering the earmarks of a Sullivan/Nadler program: an altered tempo or some other variation to make the familiar standards sound fresh.
