St. Vincent's new album "Marry Me" was released July 10th by Beggars Banquet.
Having successfully completed stints as guitarist for the likes of The Polyphonic Spree and Sufjan Stevens, Texas native Annie Clark is breaking out on her own under her new solo moniker of St. Vincent. Her show at the Bowery Ballroom on Tue. July 17th is in support of the just-released debut album on Beggars Banquet, "Marry Me".

A singer and multi-instrumentalist, Clark picked up the instrument as an early teen, while simultaneously deriving influence from jazz musicians like John Coltrane and southern folk music and gospel. The middle child of nine, Annie became the tour manager for her uncle, jazz musician Truck Andress, at the tender age of 15.

On record, St. Vincent delivers an eclectic range of sounds, with moods spanning from the darker, harsher "Your Lips are Red" to the title track, "Marry Me," which evokes a softer, smoother feeling.

Clark, the voice, guitar, bass, piano, synth and programming behind St. Vincent, will be doing a series of shows nationwide in addition to her upcoming  performance at the Bowery Ballroom.  However, since her sound as a solo performer is fresh to the music world, St. Vincent's music can be previewed through a purchase of her debut album, "Marry Me," now available on Beggars Banquet.
