Pianist John di Martino
Barbara Fasano, who packed the Metropolitan room back in November with the launch of her new album, "Written in the Stars," now returns with a new set, accompanied by John di Martino at the piano on June 29th and 30th.

The show is called "Round About" and in addition to singing a few Arlen tunes from her critically acclaimed album, Fasano will sing songs by Kurt Weill, Vernon Duke, Duke Ellington, Jule Styne, Jerome Kern, Carolyn Leigh and others.

Fasano grew up on Long Island, New York, in a volatile Italian-Catholic household--excellent preparation for a life in show business. As an actress, she has been seen in film, theatre and television. A graduate of Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater, she has worked as an actress across the country, playing roles that have run the gamut from Mrs. Bergman in Wedekind's expressionist play, "Spring Awakenings"  to Rizzo in "Grease."

Within her eclectic choices, what remains consistent is her ability to invest a lyric with deep emotional truth, creating virtual one-act plays out of each song.

Fasano has appeared in nightclubs and concert halls across the country, including Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Hall and Allen Room, Birdland, Prince Music Theatre in Philadelphia, Kerrytown Concert House in Ann Arbor, Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis and Carnegie Hall.
John di Martino has been described by Paul Pines as a musical "shape shifter", inhabiting three different worlds. As a straight ahead jazz pianist, he has performed and recorded with such notables as Kenny Burrell, Pat Martino, James Moody and Eddie Gomez. Mr. di Martino is a sought after musical director and has accompanied Jon Hendricks, Diane Schuur and the late Billy Eckstine.
