Think you're too old for chocolate? Ever wish a "candyland" for adults could exist? The Metropolitan Pavilion transformed itself into a chocolate wonderland last night at the 10th Anniversary International Chocolate Show.

To kick off opening night, the 2007 Haute Chocolate Couture Collection drew in immense crowds with a fashion show and gala to benefit City Harvest. Pastry chefs and designers joined forces to create elaborate ensembles ... all out of chocolate. Models towered beneath 3-foot-tall wigs clad in kimonos with chocolate painted parasols, trembling under 60 pounds of weighted chocolate. A wedding gown sparkled with white chocolate and jewels. One dress gaining lots of attention was a flapper-inspired dress designed by 11-year-oldJessie Harrel. Other designers and chefs include Nicole Romano, Heidi Weisel, Irina Shabayeva, Dominique Ansel, Pichet Ong and Martin Howard.

As if that wasn't enough, the French Culinary Institute presented a multi-tiered 10th anniversary cake to Chocolate Show founders Sylvie Douce and Francois Jeantet to celebrate the show. Jill Cordes of the Food Network hosted the event and the Grand Marnier co-sponsored the fashion event.

The show included nearly 70 vendors through the weekend Nov. 9-11, including booths by Peanut Butter & Co., Fairytale Brownies, Guittard Chocolate Company, Jaques Torres Chocolate and Brooklyn Fudge. Samples, new creations and specialty chocolate dishes will be offered by these top chocolatiers.

Throughout the weekend, Viking Culinary Theater, the Chocolate Theater and the Chocolate Lounge will be hosting presentations by esteemed pastry chefs, authors and mixologists. Barnes and Noble has a central book display featuring book signings by top cookbook authors and new releases.

A KidZone offers special activities working with chocolate fondue and painting to tempt young chocoholics while adults can unwind at the Chocolate Lounge. From foodies to novices, sweet-tooths to beauty-buffs, the Chocolate Show will find a way to satisfy all the audience craves.

Tickets can be purchased from ticketmaster for $28 for adults, free for children under 5, free for up to two children 5-12, and $8 for each additional child. General admission tickets will be sold at the door.
