Tom Cruise will be honored by the Museum of the Moving Image at its annual black-tie Salute on November 6, 2007 at Cipriani. The evening will include remarks by a stellar group of Cruise's friends and colleagues, and several scenes from his films. With legendary films such as "Eyes Wide Shut," "Top Gun," "Risky Business," and "Rain Man" Cruise has made himself a powerful force in film history. Recently, Tom Cruise has expanded his repetoire by becoming a film studio executive. With film company United Artists, Cruise has undergone projects in which he's produced and also starred in. His next project is "Lions for Lambs," a film directed by Robert Redfor, co-starring Merryl Streep. As the Museum's 23rd Salute honoree, Tom Cruise joins an exceptional group of past recipients: Billy Crystal, Robert De Niro, Richard Gere, Mel Gibson, Tom Hanks, Goldie Hawn, Dustin Hoffman, Ron Howard, Elia Kazan, Sidney Lumet, Steve Martin, Mike Nichols, Al Pacino, Sidney Poitier, Julia Roberts, Martin Scorsese, Will Smith, Steven Spielberg, James Stewart, John Travolta, Barbara Walters, and Robin Williams. The Moving Image Salute will raise funs for the Museum's education programs. Individual tickets for this extravagant occasion will begin at $1,500 and tables will run approximately $15,000.
