If you want to see a bunch of hot guys strut their stuff on stage, you can go to one of several male strip shows in town -- or you can opt for an event that's quite a bit classier and just as much fun. The 2008 edition of The Broadway Beauty Pageant, which had its inception last year under the title “Mr. Broadway,” will take place on Monday, April 28 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street), beginning at 8pm.

The pageant will feature male cast members representing their respective Broadway shows as they compete for the crown in talent, interviews, and swimsuit competitions. This year's hopefuls include Austin Eyer (Mr. Curtains), Joe Komara (Mr. Grease), Tommy Berklund (Mr. A Chorus Line), and Daniel Robinson (Mr. Hairspray), pictured left to right in the photo, as well as others yet to be announced.

The contestants will go head-to-head in front of a panel of celebrity judges including Hunter Bell and Susan Blackwell ([title of show]) and Broadway maven Seth Rudetsky, but the final vote is in the hands of the audience. New York Post theater columnist Michael Riedel will crown the winner.

This special event will benefit The Ali Forney Center, established in June 2002 in response to the lack of safe shelter for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth in New York City. The center provides long- and short-term housing for LGBT youth in Manhattan and Brooklyn, plus free medical care, HIV testing, mental health services, food, showers, computer access, and job training. For more information, visit aliforneycenter.org.

The Broadway Beauty Pageant is conceived and written by Jeffrey Self and directed by Ryan J. Davis, with musical direction by Eric Svejcar. Tickets are priced at $50-100, with a limited number of VIP tickets available at $250-$1,000. To purchase, go to Telecharge.com
