Saori Tsukada, Katherine Brook and Joseph Keckler: the three performers featured in "What if Saori Had a Party?"
Composer/theatre artist John Moran and his partner, Japanese dancer/choreographer Saori Tsukada return to Performance Space 122 with a brand new live art affair. It goes by the name 'What if Saori Had a Party?' and the new piece explores the back-and-forth relationship between American and Japanese culture. Using an abstracted Japanese children's show as their forum- think, Teletubbies on acid- Moran and Saori act as architects of space and sound, inventing an intricately synchronized aural and visual enviornent.

The theatre/concert- composed, directed and designed by Mr. Moran and jointly choreographed by Moran and Tsakuda- features three performers and incorporates Japanese text and 3D animation (created by Moran) that accompanies the live action. 'What if Saori Had a Party' follows closely on the heels of the pair's recent, large-scale work, 'Zenith 5'– which premiered last August at The Spiegeltent and which was presented by P.S. 122. 'What if Saori Had a Party' promises to be as eclectic and interesting an evening as 'Zenith 5' certainly was.
