Kevin Spacey at the "Superman Returns" World Premiere Eve Best Colm Meaney Eugene O'Neill's "A Moon for the Misbegotten" hits Broadway April 9 after its 112 show run in late 2006 at The Old Vic in London. The New York rendition of the production features the same cast--starring two-time Academy Award-winner Kevin Spacey, Olivier Award-winner Eve Best and Golden Globe-nominee Colm Meaney. This production is directed by Olivier Award-winner Howard Davies, who last teamed with Spacey on the 1998 hit Broadway production of O'Neill's "The Iceman Cometh" and with Best on 2003's "Mourning Becomes Electra" at the National Theatre in London. "A Moon For The Misbegotten" is a love story that follows Josie Hogan (Best), a quick-tongued woman with a ruined reputation. She lives with her conniving father Phil (Meaney) who struggles to make ends meet on the ramshackle Connecticut farm they've leased from the tormented and alcoholic Jim Tyrone (Spacey). Tyrone finds unexpected comfort in Josie's arms as these two lost souls join under a moonlit sky in O'Neill's timeless portrait of love and redemption. Spacey, although most famous for his work in film--is also successful with his work in the theater. His Academy Awards were given to him for "The Usual Suspects," and "American Beauty," and he also has a Tony Award for his portrayal of Louie in "Lost in Yonkers." Best is best known for her work in "Hedda Gabler," when she played the lead role of Hedda. This is her first Broadway show.
