Allegri The Courtyard, Lincoln Centre February 16, 2011 4pm – 6pm www.allegri.com Are We in for Stormy Weather? 40 Years Celebration of Allegri Under a surrealistic canopy of black and white umbrellas, Florentine outer ware masters, Allegri, presented their fall 2011 collection against a backdrop of 40 years of their heritage, craft and technological innovations. “We brought to the Big Apple 4 decades of our experience.” Commented Gian Maria Argetini, GM of Allegri. Featuring classic silhouettes in trench coats, and interesting goose down jackets, the recent collection heralded the arrival of new fabrics. Including a luxurious Double Silk, water repellent and windproof trench coat, a feather weight nylon weighing 30 grams per square meter, rain cashmere, and a sustainable, organic vegetable fiber from the Philippines called Abaca, once used to manufacture ships moorings and ropes. The colors include a cool pallet with autumn tones to Metallic blues, icy whites, and apple reds. Allegri, Italian for cheerful, combines function, warmth and sophisticated style with the look of the tailor made. Allegri’s thoughtful and time-honored traditions will have you singing in the rain!
