![]() Presented by HBO for the 13th year, the New York International Latino Film Festival kicks off with Cinema Under the Stars Presented by Warner Bros. and HBO Latino, a free outdoor screening celebrating the 15th anniversary of Selena on Monday, August 13 at St. Nicholas Park/135th St. at 8:30pm, and launches officially with its Opening Night red carpet event of the film Filly Brown on Tuesday, August 14, at 7:00pm at Cleaview Cinemas Screen 7. NYILFF continues through the week with star-studded red carpet premieres every night culminating with the Closing Night film Lemon on Saturday, August 18 at 6:30PM at Clearview Cinemas. NYLIFF will present over features, documentaries, and short films in English and Spanish, which reflect America's cultural diversity. NYILFF's competition categories include: Domestic Films, International Films, Documentaries, and Shorts. Other categories include: On The Edge, a showcase of progressive, non-traditional films, including horror, science fiction, animation, and off-beat narratives; Spectrum, a showcase of global urban films, not limited to the Latino perspective; and Dominican Night; with the screening of Elliot Loves.
