Once again, 17 year old Austin Wierschke of Wisconsin won the U.S. LG National Texting Competition texting competition Wednesday in New York's Times Square.

For having the fastest thumbs in America, Wierschke wins $50,000 in prize money, which he says he'll put away for college.

Eleven contestants from around the U.S. competed, all using the same type of phone, an LG Optimus Zip phone with QWERTY keyboard.

Wierschke says his practice routine includes sending over 500 texts a day to his friends.
