![]() Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is excited to announce a fall tour with Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes. The band is thrilled to keep themselves on the road in support of their most recent release, Hysterical. NPR praised Hysterical as "some of the best songs of its career...Hysterical balances the exuberance of the band's first album with beauty and reflection." Rolling Stone noted "the low-fi haze and ramshackle post-punk of the first two records by these self-made indie heroes are mostly gone on album three, replaced by confident songs festooned with shiny hooks." CYHSY first came together in 2004 and quickly earned critical and popular acclaim with the 2005 release of their self-titled (and self-released) debut. They toured nearly non-stop, pausing only to record 2007's Some Loud Thunder before hitting the road once more. As such, the band were understandably feeling a bit spent when the time came to consider Album No. 3. They briefly began woodshedding material in early 2009 but soon came to an agreement that perhaps a break was in order. Having come close to the brink, the extended gestation period that led to the new album sees CYHSY returning to action with rejuvenated strength and a spirit of true intent. With Hysterical, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah came together and crafted something that feels fresh, invigorating and new, no less so than to the band themselves. With nonstop touring, recent festival plays including a blistering set at Sasquatch and a short run with Two Door Cinema Club, CYHSY is back out to prove themselves. July 8th at the CBGB's Festival in New York. For more Times Square articles like Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Touring with Edward Sharpe, please visit the Music Features Section of TimesSquare.com
