So you wanna be in a live studio audience? When it comes to savoring an authentic television experience, L.A.’s got nothing on New York -- and Times Square is the epicenter of the TV world. Where else can you see Dave Letterman, Jon Stewart, or Regis & Kelly live, all within walking distance? You can take your chances on a standby line but, in most cases, the best way to get into a TV show taping is to request tickets from the studio through the internet, by phone, or by postcard. For the more popular shows, the wait can be six months to a year. If you’re flexible about your travel plans, then this might be your ticket to a fleeting career as a face in the crowd. Note: Many of the studios reportedly favor out-of-towners to locals.
