Turquoise Days: The Weird World Of Echo & The Bunnymenby Chris AdamsSoft Skull softskull.com Chris Adams has undertaken the ultimate labor of love in compiling this volume on the wiry trajectory of the band Echo & the Bunnymen. Originally published in 2002, it is laid out in fanzine fashion with varying type fonts, an amazing array of quotes compiled from Lord knows how many different music publications, quotes from the band members and others involved with the band at varying times, and masses of photos and illustrations. The narrative starts out in Liverpool and goes right through to the Crystal Days box set, and throughout, the writing is enthralling and lively, and minutely detailed in an almost fanboyish sort of way. Hell, I never really even liked Echo & the Bunnymen that much, and this book makes me want to go back and re-examine them. It’s that good.
