One of the greatest charities in the world, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, had a benefit concert at B.B. King's Blues Club on January 29. Directed by Donnie Kehr and hosted by comedienne Caroline Rhea, Rockers on Broadway annually brings together the worlds of theatre and rock & roll for a very special evening of music.

An awesome band ("the best band in New York") rocked out behind vocals from theatre performers, with a few genuine rock stars thrown in the mix as well. Since 2003, the proceeds of the event have gone to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and for the first time this year, Wingspan Arts, Inc., a non-profit that specializes in arts education for students in the Tri-State area.

Among the stars at the event: Micky Dolenz (The Monkees), Larry Gatlin, Kate Taylor, The Tokens, and Broadway's "Jersey Boys" (including John Lloyd Young, Daniel Reichard & J. Robert Spencer).
